"Well, actually" happens to be one of my least favorite sayings because I swear, it never leads to anything good.
We also use it when we don't like the direction things are headed, as with Christina taking on the 2nd 2nd job. She definitely doesn't want it, but doesn't quite know how to let Vivi down.
And lastly, we use it to delay bad news, as with Elli learning about Ruby's death. When the kindest option would be to simply rip off the bandaid, it's for our benefit, not theirs.
So yes, I hate the phrase "well, actually." But that's why it works so perfectly for episode 10.
