After seeing all the Avengers: Endgame trailers, we started thinking about our favorite superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That lead to deep thoughts on how those titular superheroes wouldn’t be what they are without all those supporting superheroes. And villains. Here’s our list of characters we’d like to get to know better and see more.
“An expert marksman and fighter, Clint Barton puts his talents to good use by working for S.H.I.E.L.D. as a special agent.”We know the Avenger’s archer has a wife and kids. We get a glimpse into Hawkeye’s private life when he brings the Avengers to his safehouse in Avengers: Age of Ultron. But we want to know are the details. How did he meet his wife? Does she have any special abilities? What does Hawkeye do when he’s not saving the world? Does Black Widow come for the holidays?See Hawkeye in Thor, The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: Civil War.
“Gifted the power of the legendary Asgardian Brunnhilde, Parrington assumed the mantle and the cosmic responsibilities of the Valkyrie.”We meet Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok as a bounty hunter for the Grandmaster (all hail Jeff Goldblum) on Sakaar and get just a snapshot of her story. Well, we want to know more about and see more of Valkyrie.
“The Mad Titan Thanos quests across the universe in search of the Infinity Stones, intending to use their limitless power for shocking purposes.”We know Thanos loves power and Gamora, but mostly power. What we don’t know is his backstory. What was his childhood like? What got him started on taking over the world/universe/reality? How does he feel about his “Mad Titan” nickname? The abundance of questions is as expansive as his neck size.See Thanos in The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Infinity War.
“As a pirate and mercenary with her intentions set on conquering other empires, this daughter of Thanos is feared by many across the star systems.”Can Nebula ever catch a break? Constantly vying for any acknowledgment from Thanos, maniacally jealous of her sister Gamora, even when she’s trying to do the right thing, she gets screwed. Well, we want to know all about Nebula. What keeps her motivated? What gets her out of bed every morning? And what’s her favorite food?See Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Avengers: Infinity War.
“Military veteran James Rhodes is ready for combat in his advanced armor, adding a formidable arsenal to Tony Stark-created designs.”Between being in the Air Force and being Tony Stark’s longtime friend, James “Rhodey” Rhodes has got to have some crazy stories to tell. And we want to hear them all.See War Machine in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Captain America: Civil War.
Virginia “Pepper” Potts is the CEO of Stark Industries and Tony Stark’s fiance. Besides being shrewd in business and having an uncanny ability to keep things running despite the end of the world, we don’t get to really know Pepper Potts very well. Anyone who can put up with Tony Stark’s shenanigans for so many years must have a fascinating story.See Pepper in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, The Avengers, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Avengers: Infinity War.
“Loki, Prince of Asgard, Odinson, rightful heir of Jotunheim, and God of Mischief, is burdened with glorious purpose. His desire to be a king drives him to sow chaos in Asgard. In his lust for power, he extends his reach to Earth.”Why do we want to see more of Loki? If you have to ask, then you haven’t been paying attention. See Loki in Thor, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, and Thor: Ragnarok.
“When Captain America asked Air Force Veteran Sam Wilson for help, Wilson immediately agreed.
